Frequently asked questions

uPVC, or ‘unplasticized polyvinyl chloride’ is a high-quality, rigid plastic commonly used for doors and windows. Unlike standard plastics, it is tough, weather-resistant, and resistant to UV rays, so it won’t warp, fade, or crack over time. uPVC is low-maintenance, requiring only occasional cleaning to stay looking new. It also provides excellent thermal insulation, helping to keep homes warm and energy efficient. Thanks to these properties, uPVC is a reliable, long-lasting choice for modern doors and windows, combining practicality with stylish design options.

uPVC doors are extremely low-maintenance and can be kept looking like new with just a wipe using warm, soapy water (even washing-up liquid works) and a lint-free cloth, then dried with a soft, clean cloth. To ensure smooth operation, we also recommend lubricating all moving parts, such as hinges and locks, every six months.

When choosing between composite doors and uPVC panel doors, the key differences are in material, cost, and longevity. Composite doors provide a high-end, premium look but at a higher price point, while uPVC doors are more affordable and easier to maintain.

PVCu entrance doors are a practical, cost-effective alternative to a composite back door. They deliver excellent safety and security, featuring multipoint locking systems for complete peace of mind at both the front and rear of your home, while also providing impressive insulation and comfort.

The warranty on our doors is 10 years, which covers warping, discolouring, and cracking.
